What to Expect
Standing.
The posture of the Resurrection. Readiness before God. Chairs are available, sit freely.
Symbolism.
Incense. Icons. Candles. Vestments. All senses engaged in worship.
Participation.
This is not a performance. You join worship through responses, singing, and prayer.
Ancient Language.
Time-honoured prayers from the early Christian centuries, spoken in English.
Eucharist.
Holy Communion is reserved for baptised Orthodox Christians prepared through prayer and fasting. All visitors receive blessed bread after the service.

8:15 AM — Church Opens
Doors open. Light a candle, venerate icons, settle into prayer.
8:30 AM — The Hours and Confession
Pre-service prayers read aloud. Confession available with Father.
9:00 AM — Divine Liturgy Begins
The Eucharistic service, the centre of Orthodox worship.
9:30 AM — Liturgy of the Word
Scripture readings, the Gospel, and the homily.
10:00 AM — Liturgy of the Faithful
Eucharistic prayers and Holy Communion.
10:30 AM — Dismissal
Final blessing. Blessed bread distributed. Coffee hour begins.
First-Time Visitors
Enter As You Are
Come. Observe. Ask questions. No pressure. No performance.
Modest and respectful. There is no strict dress code. Women may cover their heads, but it is not required here. Honour the sacred space as you feel comfortable.
Anywhere. Front, side, or back. Chairs are available throughout the chapel.

8:15 AM if you'd like quiet time to pray. 8:30 AM for The Hours and confession. 9:00 AM for the start of the Divine Liturgy.

How to Prepare
Prayer
Begin Sunday with morning prayers. A simple prayer rule for newcomers is available.

Orthodox fast from midnight before Communion. Speak with Father about practices.

Respectful attire. No strict code. Honour the sacred space.

Finding the Chapel:
Enter via the school entrance. Gates open 8:15 AM on Sundays. Follow signs or other parishioners toward the chapel.

Church opens at 8:15. The Hours at 8:30. Liturgy at 9:00.

Lost? Ask any Orthodox family. Everyone arrives between 8:15 and 9:00.

Sunday Access Only
We use the Emaus chapel on Sundays and feast days only. It is a private Catholic primary school, please do not visit outside of service times. Weekday meetings with Father can be arranged at an alternate location.
